Book Hopsin

Hopsin is the Los Angeles rapper, songwriter and producer known for his rapid-fire, confessional verses, his self-directed videos and the white contact lenses that became his visual trademark. Born Marcus Hopson in 1985, he was first signed by Tomica Wright to Ruthless Records, which released his debut album, Gazing at the Moonlight (2009), as the label's final release. In 2009 he also launched Funk Volume, an independent label through which he released Raw (2010) and Knock Madness (2013), building a large online audience through his "Ill Mind of Hopsin" series of introspective, often provocative songs and videos. Funk Volume also signed SwizZz, Dizzy Wright and Jarren Benton before the label closed in 2016. Hopsin then signed with Warner Records for his fourth album, Pound Syndrome (2015), his first album to crack the Billboard 200 top 20. In 2016 he launched a new label, Undercover Prodigy, in partnership with 300 Entertainment, and released his fifth album, No Shame, in 2017. Writing, producing and directing much of his own work, Hopsin has built a dedicated independent fan base, and he continues to release music on his own terms.
