Book Deltron 3030
Deltron 3030 is the hip-hop supergroup of producer Dan the Automator, rapper Del the Funky Homosapien and turntablist Kid Koala, an American and Canadian trio famed for building an entire science-fiction world out of beats and rhymes. Each member performs under a futuristic alter ego: Del as Deltron Zero, Dan as the Cantankerous Captain Aptos and Kid Koala as Skiznod the Boy Wonder. Their self-titled debut, Deltron 3030 (2000), is a concept album set a thousand years in the future, pitting a rebel hero against all-powerful corporations, with lyrics steeped in the Afrofuturist spirit of Sun Ra and George Clinton. An instrumental edition followed in 2001. The long-awaited follow-up, Event 2, finally arrived in 2013 after years of anticipation, and the group previewed it in 2012 with a premiere performance at Toronto's Luminato festival. Fans prize the project for its cinematic production, dense storytelling and inventive scratching. Live, Deltron 3030 delivers a rare blend of underground hip-hop, orchestral scope and imaginative theater.
