Flavor Flav is the legendary hype man, rapper and television personality who co-founded Public Enemy with Chuck D in 1985. Signed to Def Jam after Chuck D insisted the two come as a package, the group debuted with Yo! Bum Rush the Show in 1987 and exploded with It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back in 1988. By the time "Fight the Power" landed in 1989, Public Enemy were mainstream stars, and Flav was the group's comic counterweight to Chuck D's fiery politics. Public Enemy earned six Grammy nominations, and Flav is an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He released the solo album Hollywood in 2006 and became a reality TV fixture on VH1 with The Surreal Life, Strange Love and Flavor of Love.
