Book Fatboy Slim
Fatboy Slim is the alias of Norman Cook, the English DJ and producer who led the big beat movement of the 1990s with "The Rockafeller Skank," "Praise You" and "Right Here, Right Now." His Grammy win came for "Weapon of Choice," the Christopher Walken video named Best Short Form Music Video from six career nominations, and the clip also swept six MTV Video Music Awards. Cook first played bass in the Housemartins, then moved to Brighton, formed Beats International, which scored with "Dub Be Good to Me," played in Freak Power. As Fatboy Slim he released Better Living Through Chemistry (1996), the platinum You've Come a Long Way, Baby (1998), Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars (2000) and Palookaville (2004), and he founded Southern Fried Records. His free Big Beach Boutique II show on Brighton beach in 2002 drew a quarter of a million people. With David Byrne he wrote Here Lies Love, a concept album turned stage musical that earned him a Tony nomination for Best Original Score in 2024. His honors also include two Brit Awards, an Ivor Novello Award and nine MTV VMAs.
