Book Death Angel
Death Angel is a thrash metal band from San Francisco with Filipino-American roots, formed in 1982. They rose in the Bay Area scene of the 1980s, playing shows with Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Exodus and Testament, and are regarded as a leading act of thrash's second wave. The underground success of their first two albums, The Ultra-Violence (1987) and Frolic Through the Park (1988), led to a deal with Geffen Records and the 1990 album Act III. The group split in 1991 and reformed in 2001 at the Thrash of the Titans benefit show for Testament vocalist Chuck Billy. Guitarist Rob Cavestany is the one member present throughout, and singer Mark Osegueda, a member since 1984, appears on every studio album. Their later records include The Art of Dying (2004), Killing Season (2008), Relentless Retribution (2010), The Dream Calls for Blood (2013), The Evil Divide (2016) and Humanicide (2019), nine studio albums in all, and the band has received a Grammy nomination. Death Angel plays fast, precise, high-intensity thrash on stage.
