Book Anthrax

Anthrax is a New York thrash metal institution, started in 1981 when guitarist Scott Ian teamed with bassist Dan Lilker. Alongside Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer they make up the genre's famed Big Four. Today's lineup features Ian, drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello, singer Joey Belladonna and lead guitarist Jonathan Donais, with Ian and Benante playing on every Anthrax album. After the debut Fistful of Metal (1984) and Spreading the Disease (1985), Among the Living (1987) gave them their mainstream breakthrough and remains a thrash landmark. State of Euphoria (1988) and Persistence of Time (1990) followed, the latter earning their first Grammy nomination; they have six in total. With John Bush on vocals, Sound of White Noise (1993) reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and produced the radio hit "Only", followed by Stomp 442 (1995) and Volume 8: The Threat Is Real (1998). Later records include We've Come for You All (2003), Worship Music (2011), For All Kings (2016) and Cursum Perficio (2026), backed by the Run for Your Lives World Tour. Their shows are fast, loud and built on circle-pit anthems.
