Book Body Count
Body Count is a Los Angeles heavy metal group that started in 1989 and is led by Ice-T, a rap star who turned to metal, together with lead guitarist Ernie C. Ice-T writes most lyrics and handles vocals while Ernie C writes the music. Their self-titled debut, Body Count, arrived on Sire Records in 1992, and they have since added Born Dead (1994), Violent Demise: The Last Days (1997), Murder 4 Hire (2006), Manslaughter (2014), Bloodlust (2017), Carnivore (2020) and Merciless (2024), eight studio albums in all. At the 63rd Grammy Awards in 2021, Body Count won Best Metal Performance for "Bum-Rush," taken from Carnivore, after two nominations. They played the Vans Warped Tour in 2009, and the current lineup pairs Ice-T and Ernie C with guitarist Juan Garcia, bassist Vincent Price, and drummer Will Dorsey Jr. plus backing singers Sean E Sean and Little Ice. Their live show mixes thrash-edged riffs with Ice-T's commanding delivery.
