Book Ben Horowitz

Ben Horowitz is an American entrepreneur, investor and author, and with Marc Andreessen he co-founded the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. His career began in 1990 as an engineer at Silicon Graphics. In 1995 he joined Andreessen at Netscape as a product manager and later ran its directory and security product line, and after AOL bought Netscape he led AOL's eCommerce division. In 1999 he co-founded Loudcloud with Andreessen and two other partners, serving enterprise clients such as Ford, Nike and the U.S. Army, and he took the company public in March 2001. The following year he steered a bold reinvention, selling the managed services business to EDS and turning Loudcloud into Opsware, an enterprise software company he grew as president and chief executive until Hewlett-Packard acquired it in 2007. Horowitz shares hard-won lessons in his books.
