Book Art Garfunkel
Art Garfunkel is an American singer, actor and poet, born in Queens, New York, in 1941, whose soaring tenor defined the folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. He met Paul Simon as a schoolboy, and in the 1960s the pair turned "The Sound of Silence", "Mrs. Robinson", "Scarborough Fair", "The Boxer" and "Bridge over Troubled Water" into enduring standards, closing their original run with the 1970 album Bridge over Troubled Water. That record and its title song brought Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Record of the Year, and across his career Garfunkel has won eight Grammys from 13 nominations, including a Lifetime Achievement Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Simon in 1990. His solo catalog includes Angel Clare (1973), Breakaway (1975), Watermark (1978), Fate for Breakfast (1979), Scissors Cut (1981), Lefty (1988), Everything Waits to Be Noticed (2002), Some Enchanted Evening (2007) and Father and Son (2024), and it yielded five Adult Contemporary No. 1 singles. In concert he revisits those timeless harmonies alongside songs from his solo years.
