Book Pia Zadora
Pia Zadora is an actress and singer from Hoboken, New Jersey, whose recording career earned a Grammy nomination for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance and an international number-one duet with Jermaine Jackson. She started young, playing Bielke in the original Broadway run of Fiddler on the Roof and appearing on screen at nine in Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. Her starring role opposite Stacy Keach and Orson Welles in Butterfly brought a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year, and she later turned up as a beatnik in John Waters's Hairspray. Music became her main stage. "When the Rain Begins to Fall," recorded with Jackson for the film Voyage of the Rock Aliens, went to number one in Germany and the Netherlands, and her albums Pia and Let's Dance Tonight included "The Clapping Song." She then moved to popular standards, cutting Pia & Phil and I Am What I Am with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, records that won her new attention as a vocalist. A Las Vegas fixture, she headlined the Riviera in the 1970s and from 2013 hosted her own nightclub show, Pia's Place, at Piero's Italian Cuisine.
