Book Alice Merton
Alice Merton is a German-Canadian singer-songwriter who first drew attention in 2015 as a vocalist and writer on Fahrenhaidt's album The Book of Nature. After moving to Berlin, she and her manager founded the label Paper Plane Records International and released "No Roots" at the end of 2016, a song inspired by never having had one place to call home. It reached number two in Germany, number three in Austria and number one on US alternative radio, and her first EP, No Roots, followed in February 2017. She won the Preis für Popkultur in 2017 and the Echo Pop Award for best national rock/pop female artist in 2018. Her debut studio album, Mint, was released in 2019, then S.I.D.E.S. in 2022 and Visions in January 2026. Merton has a husky, confident voice and an instinct for hook-heavy, guitar-and-synth pop, and she performs with a driving, upbeat energy that draws audiences in from the first chorus.
