Signed to Def Jam as an artist after "Umbrella," he released Love/Hate (2007), with the top-20 single "Shawty Is a 10" featuring Fabolous, which earned him the BET Award for Best New Artist in 2008. Love vs. Money (2009), featuring "Rockin' That Shit," Love King, 1977 and IV Play followed. Through his own label, Radio Killa Records, he issued the triple album Ménage à Trois: Sextape Vol. 1, 2, 3 and Sextape 4, and in 2026 he returned with Love/Hate II.
