Book Sleigh Bells
Sleigh Bells is a Brooklyn duo, formed in 2008, made up of vocalist Alexis Krauss and guitarist and producer Derek Miller, famous for loud, overdriven noise pop. Miller, who had played guitar for post-hardcore outfit Poison the Well, moved to New York that year looking for a female singer for his demos, and Krauss, who had sung in a teen pop group and studied political science, became his partner. Their sound fuses pop hooks with hip-hop beats, metal crunch and punk attitude. With backing from M.I.A.'s label N.E.E.T. and from Mom + Pop Music, they released their debut album Treats in 2010 to widespread critical praise. Reign of Terror followed in 2012, then Bitter Rivals (2013) and Jessica Rabbit (2016). The duo returned with Texis in September 2021 and Bunky Becky Birthday Boy in April 2025, keeping their trademark blend of sweetness and sonic assault intact. Live, Sleigh Bells is a full-volume experience, with Krauss's commanding stage presence riding walls of guitar and booming drums, delivering short, explosive, adrenaline-charged sets that leave crowds buzzing.
