Book Sean Spicer

Sean Spicer, a political commentator, Navy officer and onetime White House press secretary, has spent much of his career at the intersection of politics and media. He spent six years as communications director of the Republican National Committee, from 2011 to 2017, adding the role of chief strategist from 2015. In 2017 he became the 30th White House press secretary under President Donald Trump and also served as acting White House communications director, stepping down that July. A commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy, he brings a military background to his public life. After leaving the White House, he wrote the memoir The Briefing: Politics, the Press, and the President, competed on season 28 of Dancing with the Stars, and hosted a political talk show on Newsmax TV. He has since joined NewsNation as a political contributor, co-hosted the daily podcast The Morning Meeting with Mark Halperin and Dan Turrentine, and hosts a radio show on WABC in New York. Spicer offers audiences a behind-the-podium look at the White House briefing room, campaign communications, the relationship between politicians and the press, and the business of political media.
