Book Safra Catz

Safra Catz is an Israeli-American business executive who has spent over twenty-five years in the leadership of Oracle Corporation, one of the world's largest enterprise software companies, and now serves as its executive vice chair. She began her career in investment banking in 1986 and rose to managing director at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette before joining Oracle as a senior vice president in 1999. She joined the board in 2001, became president in 2004, and drove Oracle's 2005 acquisition of rival PeopleSoft, a landmark deal in the software industry. She served twice as chief financial officer, from 2005 to 2008 and from 2011 to 2014, the second time while also co-president reporting to founder Larry Ellison. In 2014 she was named co-CEO alongside Mark Hurd, and from late 2019 she led the company as sole CEO until September 2025. Her board work has included Hyperion Solutions, PeopleSoft and Stellent, and she has sat on the executive council of TechNet since 2013.
