Book Pouya
Pouya is the Miami rapper who helped launch the underground rap scene that grew on SoundCloud from 2012, and he was among the first to champion the duo Suicideboys early in their career. Born Kevin Pouya, he began rapping seriously around 2011 and, with childhood friend Fat Nick, formed the Buffet Boys, a crew that later became their record label. His 2013 song "Get Buck" made his name online, and that year he released Gookin', a collaborative EP with Sir Michael Rocks of the Cool Kids. Mixtapes including Stunna (2014), which drew on the rapid, melodic style of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and South Side Slugs (2015) followed. His debut album, Underground Underdog (2016), led to a prolific run of independent albums: Five Five, The South Got Something to Say, Blood Was Never Thick As Water, GATOR, THEY COULD NEVER MAKE ME HATE YOU, the ALL BUT 6 series and Suicidal Thoughts in the Back of the Cadillac, Pt. 3. He released a self-titled album in 2025 and Foreverglades in 2026. Fully independent, Pouya has kept a dedicated core fan base, and his shows pair rapid-fire flows with mosh-pit energy.
