Book Token
Token is an American rapper, singer and producer from Salem, Massachusetts, born Benjamin David Goldberg, known for dense, intricate wordplay and a self-made rise through YouTube. He began rhyming as a kid, posting freestyles and videos online, and released his debut mixtape, The Mindstate, in 2014. A 2015 video of him rapping while strolling through his Marblehead neighborhood for the "No Sucka MCs" contest passed half a million views in days, and his appearance on Sway's Friday's Fire Cipher brought him a much wider following. He also appeared in the film Patriots Day (2016). After early projects Eraser Shavings (2016) and Between Somewhere (2018), Token partnered with Atlantic Records for distribution in 2020, then released the studio albums Pink Is Better (2022), I'm Not Supposed to Be Here (2025) and I'm Leaving Soon (2026). His music blends rapid-fire lyricism, introspective storytelling and melodic hooks, and he has built a devoted fan base that follows his frequent video releases. Live, Token delivers technically dazzling verses with energy and humor, appealing to hip-hop purists and younger fans who found him online.
