Book Patrick Chan
Patrick Chan is a Canadian former competitive figure skater, celebrated for the artistry, elegance and technical command that made him a three-time world champion. He began skating in 1996 hoping to play hockey, but quickly fell for figure skating under coach Osborne Colson. Chan went on to win ten Canadian national titles, from 2008 to 2014 and again from 2016 to 2018, three Four Continents championships in 2009, 2012 and 2016, and back-to-back Grand Prix Final titles in 2010 and 2011. He won the World Championships three straight years, in 2011, 2012 and 2013, and in April 2011 he set new world records for both the short program, with 93.02 points, and the overall score, with 280.98. That season he received the Lou Marsh Award as Canada's top athlete. At the 2014 Winter Olympics he took silver in both the men's and team events, and at the 2018 Games he won Olympic gold in the team event. Chan announced his retirement from competition in April 2018.
