Book Parquet Courts
Parquet Courts is a New York City rock band formed in 2010, known for wiry guitars, restless energy and literate, talk-sung lyrics. The lineup has stayed constant from the start: Andrew Savage and Austin Brown on vocals, guitars and keyboards, Sean Yeaton on bass and vocals, and Max Savage on drums. Andrew Savage and Brown first crossed paths at the University of North Texas, in Denton, before the group relocated to Brooklyn. Their debut, American Specialties (2011), began life as a limited cassette, and Light Up Gold (2012) brought the band wide critical praise. They kept up a prolific pace with Sunbathing Animal (2014) and Content Nausea (2014), then Human Performance (2016), the collaborative MILANO (2017), Wide Awake! (2018) and Sympathy for Life (2021). In 2014 they made their network television debut playing "Black and White" on Late Night with Seth Meyers, with Fred Armisen sitting in on rhythm guitar, and they also issued "Uncast Shadow of a Southern Myth" under the playful alias Parkay Quarts. Live, Parquet Courts brings taut, punk-rooted rock and roll with plenty of grit and wit.
