He first fronted the Rascals, then formed the Last Shadow Puppets with Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner, a duo whose 2008 album The Age of Understatement became a critical favorite and which Kane remains part of. Since 2011 he has focused on a solo career, with Colour of the Trap that year, followed by Don't Forget Who You Are in 2013, Coup de Grace in 2018, Change the Show in 2022, One Man Band in 2023 and Sunlight in the Shadows in 2025. Songs such as "Inhaler," "Rearrange" and "Come Closer" show his taste for sharp guitar riffs, 1960s-style swagger and strong melodies.
