Book Futurebirds
Futurebirds are a rock and roll band from Athens, Georgia, formed in 2008 by five friends at the University of Georgia: Daniel Womack, Carter King and Thomas Johnson, plus Brannen Miles and Payton Bradford. Rooted in the Athens indie scene, they mix rock, Americana, country rock, folk rock and psychedelic textures, with pedal steel from Dennis Love giving the band its signature twang. Three distinct songwriters, Womack, King and Johnson, keep the catalog varied. Their first full-length, Hampton's Lullaby, arrived in 2010 on Autumn Tone Records, followed by the Via Flamina EP in 2011, the same summer they hit the road on the Bonnaroo Buzz Tour alongside Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and played two Bonnaroo sets. Baba Yaga (2013) and Hotel Parties (2015) widened their sound, and later releases include Teamwork (2020), Bloomin' (2021), Bloomin' Too (2022), GHOULIN' AROUND (2023) and Easy Company (2024), the year they signed with Dualtone Records. Far Out Country I followed in 2026. Having shared bills with Widespread Panic and Drive-By Truckers, Futurebirds deliver a loose, high-energy live show built on harmonies and guitar jams.
