Micky Dolenz is an American singer, actor, director and musician who became a star as the voice and drummer of the Monkees, the band built around the hit NBC series The Monkees in 1966. Although listed as the drummer, he sang lead on many of the group's biggest records, including "Last Train to Clarksville" and "I'm a Believer." The show won Emmy Awards, and after the deaths of Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Michael Nesmith, Dolenz became the last surviving member. He has since continued solo with albums such as Broadway Micky, Remember, King for a Day, Live in Japan and Dolenz Sings Nesmith in 2021. Grammy.com lists two nominations. In concert, Dolenz mixes Monkees hits with stories from the show, bringing humor and warmth to theaters, casinos, fairs and festivals.
