Book Mike Love
Mike Love is a founding member, lead singer and lyricist of the Beach Boys, the band he started with the three Wilson brothers, his cousins, and Al Jardine. Inspired by doo-wop, Chuck Berry and the songwriting team of Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, he wrote lyrics about surfing, cars and romance that helped define the image of the California Dream. With Brian Wilson he co-wrote fifteen US top 40 hits, including "Fun, Fun, Fun," "I Get Around," "Help Me, Rhonda," "California Girls," "Good Vibrations" and "Do It Again," and without Brian he co-wrote "Getcha Back" and "Kokomo," a number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988. He entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 1988. A student of Transcendental Meditation under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi from 1968, he became a TM teacher in 1971. His solo work includes Looking Back with Love (1981), Unleash the Love (2017) and the holiday album Reason for the Season. Since 1998 he has held the exclusive license to tour as the Beach Boys, and he told his story in the 2016 memoir Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy.
