Knife Party is an Australian electronic music duo made up of Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, best known as two members of the drum and bass group Pendulum. Swire and McGrillen met in 2002 and worked together in a string of projects before starting Knife Party as a side venture, which grew so popular it became their main focus. The name nods to the Deftones song "Knife Prty" from the 2000 album White Pony. The duo first surfaced in 2011 with a SoundCloud teaser of their remix of Swedish House Mafia's "Save the World," then released the debut EP 100% No Modern Talking through Warner Bros. Records in December 2011, featuring "Destroy Them with Lazers." The EP Rage Valley followed, and their full-length album Abandon Ship arrived in 2014. Over the years Knife Party has worked with artists including Swedish House Mafia, Steve Aoki, Foreign Beggars, Pegboard Nerds and Tom Morello, and the duo placed 23rd in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll in 2013. Knife Party brings heavy electro and dubstep bass, sharp production and big-room festival energy to any stage.
