Hatebreed started in 1994 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and is now based in New Haven. The hardcore band, led by vocalist Jamey Jasta, put out its debut album, Satisfaction Is the Death of Desire, in 1997, which gave it a cult following. After signing to Universal Records the band released Perseverance in 2002, then The Rise of Brutality in 2003, Supremacy in 2006, For the Lions in 2009, a self-titled Hatebreed in 2009, The Divinity of Purpose in 2013, The Concrete Confessional in 2016, Weight of the False Self in 2020 and Fatal Paradox in 2026. Hatebreed has two Grammy nominations. The music fuses hardcore punk and heavy metal, driven by positive, motivational, anti-quitting lyrics. Their shows are intense, with pits, crowd shouts and a loyal following.
