Book Grimes
Grimes, a singer, songwriter and producer from Vancouver, Canada, makes music whose music draws on science fiction, feminism and fantasy. She began releasing music independently after relocating to Montreal in 2006, and her first two records, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa, both appeared in 2010 through Arbutus Records. A move to 4AD followed, and her 2012 album Visions broke her through, winning the Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year and spawning the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion." The same year she earned a Juno nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Art Angels, issued in 2015, was named album of the year by several publications, and Miss Anthropocene continued her run of ambitious full-length releases. She has also won a Libera Award for Video of the Year and lent her voice to the video game Cyberpunk 2077. On the road she has headlined the Visions Tour, the Full Flex Express Canadian Train Tour, the Ac!d Reign Tour and the How Beautiful Tour, bringing an one-person, studio-built sound to a live stage.
