Book Future Bible Heroes
Future Bible Heroes is an indie pop trio led by Stephin Merritt, the acclaimed songwriter behind The Magnetic Fields. Merritt shares the vocals with his Magnetic Fields bandmate Claudia Gonson, while former Figures on a Beach member Chris Ewen builds the music. Unlike much of Merritt's other work, the project leans into electronic disco, pairing his famously witty, bittersweet lyrics with shimmering synths and danceable beats. The trio's albums are Memories of Love (1997), Eternal Youth (2002), on which Gonson sings every track, and Partygoing (2013). Along the way they released the EPs Lonely Days (1997), I'm Lonely (And I Love It) (2000) and The Lonely Robot (2003), plus singles such as "The World Is A Discoball." In 1995 the group contributed "Hopeless" to the AIDS benefit compilation Red Hot + Bothered, produced by the Red Hot Organization. For audiences who love clever songwriting with a glittering dance-floor pulse, Future Bible Heroes offer a stylish, tongue-in-cheek set that blends synth-pop sparkle with deadpan humor and genuine heart, a must for fans of Merritt's vast and devoted cult following.
