Book David Sacks

David Sacks is a South African-American tech investor, entrepreneur and author who has helped build some of Silicon Valley's best-known companies. After working as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, he joined the startup Confinity in 1999 and became the first product leader of what grew into PayPal, later serving as chief operating officer and overseeing product, design, sales, marketing, international and operations teams. PayPal went public in 2002 and was acquired by eBay later that year, and Sacks is counted among the so-called PayPal Mafia. He went on to found the genealogy site Geni and the enterprise social network Yammer, served as interim CEO of Zenefits for ten months starting in 2016, and in 2017 co-founded the early-stage venture firm Craft Ventures, where he is a general partner. His angel portfolio includes Facebook, Uber, SpaceX, Palantir and Airbnb, and he also produced the film Thank You for Smoking (2005). He co-hosts the All In podcast with Chamath Palihapitiya, Jason Calacanis and David Friedberg, and from late 2024 to March 2026 he served as the White House AI and crypto czar. He offers sharp insight on startups, technology and policy.
