Book Crumb
Crumb is an American psychedelic rock band based in Brooklyn, known for a hazy sound that mixes vintage psychedelia, jazzy looseness and free-roaming indie rock. The group brings together Lila Ramani on guitar and vocals, Jesse Brotter on bass and vocals, Bri Aronow on synths, keys and saxophone, and Jonathan Gilad on drums, who first connected as students at Tufts University. Working up songs Ramani had begun writing in high school and college, they released two independent EPs, Crumb (2016) and Locket (2017), with limited vinyl and cassette runs through Citrus City Records, and built a devoted following on the strength of their dreamy, lo-fi sound. Their first full-length album, Jinx (2019), drew positive notices from critics, and the single "Trophy" in 2021 led into their second album, Ice Melt (2021). In 2023 they teamed with French artist Melody's Echo Chamber on "Le Temple Volant", and their third album, AMAMA (2024), arrived with the singles "AMAMA" and "The Bug". Paste has described their music as a soothing pop amalgamation of psych and jazz. Live, Crumb creates a hypnotic, groove-driven atmosphere that draws listeners deep into its swirling sound.
