Book Blossoms
Blossoms are the indie rock band from Stockport, Greater Manchester, whose self-titled 2016 debut album was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Formed in 2013, the group features Tom Ogden on lead vocals and guitar, Charlie Salt on bass, Josh Dewhurst on lead guitar, Joe Donovan on drums and Myles Kellock on keyboards and synthesizer. All five grew up within two miles of one another and were born at the same Stockport hospital; Ogden and Donovan first crossed paths on a 2005 school outing, and the band played its first gig in April 2013 at Manchester's Night and Day Café. After early releases on Skeleton Key Records, Blossoms placed fourth on the BBC's Sound of 2016 list, and in 2017 the Brit Awards shortlisted them for British Breakthrough Act. Their debut, featuring "Charlemagne," was followed by Cool Like You (2018), Foolish Loving Spaces (2020), Ribbon Around the Bomb (2022), Gary (2024) and Songs From the Wedding Cake (2026). Blending jangling guitars with glossy synth-pop hooks inspired by 1960s and 1980s pop, the band has grown from local venues to arena and stadium shows in its home region.
