Book Ben Crenshaw
Ben Crenshaw, the golfer known as "Gentle Ben," is a two-time Masters champion and a master of the putting green. A product of the Texas Longhorns golf program, he turned professional in 1973 at 21 and won the very first event he played after earning his tour card, a rare feat. He went on to win 19 times on the PGA Tour, and after five runner-up finishes in majors he broke through at the Masters Tournament in 1984. In 1995 he won the Masters again in a deeply emotional victory that came one week after the passing of his longtime mentor, Harvey Penick, a moment golf fans still treasure. Crenshaw captained the United States Ryder Cup team in 1999 at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, where his side stormed back from a 10–6 deficit in the Sunday singles to win, and he was credited with inspiring the comeback. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2002. Crenshaw brings a gentle wit, a deep love of golf history and some of the sport's most moving stories to every audience.
