Book Fred Couples
Fred Couples is an American golf great whose smooth, powerful swing earned him the nickname "Boom Boom" and carried him to the top of the world rankings. A Seattle native, he played college golf for the Houston Cougars at the University of Houston, where his roommates included future tour pro Blaine McCallister and broadcaster Jim Nantz. At 19, still an amateur, he captured the 1978 Washington Open in a playoff. His first PGA Tour title came at the Kemper Open in 1983, and he went on to win the Players Championship in both 1984 and 1996. The signature moment of his career arrived in 1992, when he slipped on the green jacket at the Masters Tournament. In all he has collected 64 professional victories. On the senior circuit he added the Senior Players Championship in 2011 and the Senior Open Championship in 2012, and in 2023, at age 63, he became the oldest golfer ever to make the cut at Augusta. He entered the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2013. Relaxed, funny and beloved by fans, Couples brings decades of championship stories to any room.
