Book Bahamas
Bahamas is the stage name of Canadian musician Afie Jurvanen, a self-taught guitarist and songwriter known for warm, unhurried grooves and wry, tender lyrics. Before stepping out on his own he played alongside artists including Feist, City and Colour, Jack Johnson, The Lumineers and Jason Collett. He cut his debut Pink Strat in a rural Ontario cabin and released it in 2009, earning a Juno nomination for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year. Barchords (2012) brought Juno nods for Adult Alternative Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year, and Bahamas Is Afie (2014) won him both of those Juno Awards. He has since released Earthtones (2018), supported by the Earthtones World Tour, Sad Hunk (2020), which also took the Juno for Adult Alternative Album, Bootcut (2023) and My Second Last Album (2025). Bahamas has opened for Jack Johnson, Robert Plant, Wilco and The Lumineers, and he typically tours with drummer Jason Tait and vocalist Felicity Williams. His shows are intimate and soulful, built on tasteful guitar, easy humor and beautifully arranged harmonies.
