Book Albert Brooks
Albert Brooks is an American comedian, actor, writer and director known for a sharp, self-aware style of humor that influenced a generation of comics. He rose through television variety and talk shows in the late 1960s and early 1970s, becoming a frequent guest on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson with an ironic, nervous showbiz persona. As a filmmaker he wrote, directed and starred in comedies including Modern Romance (1981), Lost in America (1985) and Defending Your Life (1991). His acting work earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Broadcast News (1987), and his turn in Drive (2011) won wide acclaim. Other screen credits include Taxi Driver (1976), Private Benjamin (1980), Out of Sight (1998) and Concussion (2015). Family audiences know his voice as Marlin in Finding Nemo (2003) and Finding Dory (2016), and he has played several memorable guest characters on The Simpsons and in The Simpsons Movie (2007). He also earned a Grammy nomination and wrote the novel 2030: The Real Story of What Happens to America (2011). Brooks brings wit, timing and decades of comedy craft to any appearance.
