Book Andrew Dice Clay
Andrew Dice Clay, the Brooklyn-born stand-up comic and film actor, rode his swaggering stage character, "The Diceman," to become one of the loudest names in comedy at the end of the 1980s. Born Andrew Clay Silverstein, he got his start in 1978 at Pips comedy club in Sheepshead Bay, where an impressions set grew into the persona that defined his career. In 1990 he made history as the first stand-up to sell out Madison Square Garden on two nights in a row, and that same year he took the lead in the film The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. His concert specials include The Diceman Cometh (1989) and Assume the Position (1996), and his recorded comedy has earned a Grammy nomination. Later in his career he won praise for dramatic supporting work in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine (2013) and in A Star Is Born (2018), which brought a Screen Actors Guild ensemble nomination. He starred in his own Showtime series, Dice, for two seasons, launched the podcast I'm Ova Hea' Now in 2018, and still headlines stand-up shows with the same raw, high-volume energy that first packed arenas.
