Book Keenen Ivory Wayans
Keenen Ivory Wayans is an American actor, comedian and filmmaker from the Wayans family of entertainers who created, wrote, hosted and starred in Fox's sketch series In Living Color from 1990 to 1994. The show won the 1990 Emmy for outstanding variety, music or comedy series. Wayans met Robert Townsend during his first set at The Improv in New York, and the two drove to Los Angeles together; there he played a soldier on For Love and Honor and a football receiver on Hill Street Blues. He co-wrote and co-starred in Townsend's Hollywood Shuffle in 1987, and its success helped him raise money for I'm Gonna Git You Sucka. Fox then offered him a show, and he built In Living Color as a bold sketch program with a cast of color. He went on to direct Scary Movie, which became the top-grossing film by a Black director until 2005, along with Scary Movie 2, White Chicks and Little Man, mostly featuring his siblings. He also hosted The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show from 1997 to 1998 and judged Last Comic Standing in 2014.
