Book Adrian Belew

Adrian Belew is the American guitarist, singer and producer celebrated for coaxing animal cries, sirens and machine noises out of the electric guitar. Born in Covington, Kentucky, in December 1949, he started out as a drummer before switching to guitar and fronting the band GaGa in the late 1970s. He became one of rock's most in-demand sidemen, touring and recording with Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Laurie Anderson and Nine Inch Nails and adding his parts to hit singles by Paul Simon and Tom Tom Club. From 1981 to 2009 he was guitarist and frontman of King Crimson, the longest-serving singer in that band's history. He has also released close to twenty solo albums on Island and Atlantic, played in the Bears, and reached the Billboard Hot 100 in 1989 with "Oh Daddy". His 2005 piece "Beat Box Guitar" earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. Belew helped Parker Guitars design his signature Parker Fly model and has created two iOS music apps, and he continues to record and tour.
