Book Yeasayer

Yeasayer was an adventurous indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York, that blended psychedelic pop, electronic textures and global influences into a sound all its own. Formed in 2006 by Chris Keating, Anand Wilder and Ira Wolf Tuton, the trio first drew wide notice with an appearance at the SXSW festival in 2007. Keating and Wilder, who had played music together since high school in Baltimore, shared lead vocals and songwriting duties, while the band shaped its arrangements together. Their double A-side debut single paired "Sunrise" and "2080," both featured on the debut album All Hour Cymbals (2007), which the band described as a Middle Eastern-flavored take on rock. Yeasayer built momentum with the shimmering, dance-ready Odd Blood (2010), then continued exploring with Fragrant World (2012), Amen & Goodbye (2016) and Erotic Reruns (2019), for five studio albums in all. Known for lush harmonies and inventive live shows, the group earned a devoted following in the indie world. Yeasayer announced their split in December 2019, closing a run of thirteen years of distinctive, genre-bending music.
