Book White Lies
White Lies are a west London indie rock group from Ealing, built around singer and guitarist Harry McVeigh, bassist and lyricist Charles Cave and drummer Jack Lawrence-Brown, with keyboardist Tommy Bowen joining them on stage. Cave and Lawrence-Brown grew up together in Pitshanger Village, and the trio first played as Fear of Flying before relaunching as White Lies in October 2007. They held back their first gig for five months to build anticipation and signed with Fiction Records within days of it. The singles "Unfinished Business" and "Death" quickly led to tours and festival dates across Britain and North America, along with a headline slot at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend and the 2009 NME Awards Tour. That year they featured on the BBC's Sound of 2009 list and the shortlist for the BRITs Critics' Choice Award. Their debut To Lose My Life… (2009) was followed by Ritual (2011), Big TV (2013), Friends (2016), Five (2019), As I Try Not to Fall Apart (2022) and Night Light (2025). Live, White Lies deliver dark, soaring anthems with driving rhythms and big, emotional choruses.
