Book Volbeat
Volbeat are a Danish rock band that fuses 1950s rockabilly swing with heavy metal muscle, and they have racked up nine number ones on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Founded in Copenhagen in 2001 by singer and guitarist Michael Poulsen after his death metal band Dominus broke up, Poulsen today leads a lineup with Jon Larsen on drums, Kaspar Boye Larsen on bass and Flemming C. Lund on guitar. Their second album, Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil, entered the Danish charts at number one in 2007, the year they opened the Roskilde Festival and supported Metallica in Denmark. Metallica brought them back for the North American leg of the World Magnetic Tour in 2009, and Beyond Hell/Above Heaven (2010) went gold in the United States and platinum in Canada. The band earned a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance with "Room 24," featuring King Diamond, and have played Download, Sonisphere and Pinkpop. Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, Seal the Deal & Let's Boogie, Rewind, Replay, Rebound and Servant of the Mind kept the run going, and their ninth studio album, God of Angels Trust, arrived in 2025 on Mascot Records.
