Book Vincent Mason
Vincent Mason, known as Maseo and also as P.A. Pasemaster Mase and Plug Three, is the DJ and producer of the legendary hip-hop trio De La Soul. In 1987 he joined his friends Kelvin Mercer, known as Posdnuos, and David Jolicoeur, known as Trugoy the Dove, to form the group, and their demo "Plug Tunin'" caught the ear of Prince Paul of Stetsasonic. Prince Paul helped the trio sign with Tommy Boy and produced their landmark debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising. Mason's main role is behind the turntables, and he describes himself as a b-boy at heart, drawing on real life and world events for inspiration. He has also stepped to the microphone, featuring as a vocalist on "Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)" from De La Soul Is Dead and on the Jungle Brothers collaboration "Doin' Our Own Dang", and he recorded the famous laugh that opens the group's Gorillaz collaboration "Feel Good Inc.". He is also part of the Spitkicker collective, which releases music and supports community activism. Maseo brings golden-era turntable skills and classic party energy to every set.
