Book Tim Armstrong

Tim Armstrong is an American singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer, and a defining voice of American punk rock. He fronts Rancid, sharing vocals and guitar, and also leads the hip-hop and punk supergroup Transplants. Before Rancid he was a founding member of the ska punk band Operation Ivy, which formed in 1987 with Jesse Michaels, Matt Freeman and Dave Mello and grew into a worldwide cult favorite after it split in 1989. Earlier still, he and Freeman played in Basic Radio, and in 1989 the pair launched Dance Hall Crashers to explore traditional ska and rocksteady. In 1997 he co-founded Hellcat Records with Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion. Beyond his own bands, Armstrong writes and produces for other artists, with credits on Pink's Try This (2003) and Greatest Hits… So Far!!! (2010), and his production and writing with Jimmy Cliff and Pink brought him a Grammy win. He has also collaborated with Joe Walsh and the Interrupters, and since 2012 has released stripped-down covers and favorite influences under the name Tim Timebomb. He brings decades of street-level punk credibility and a gravelly, instantly familiar voice.
