Book Tevin Campbell
Tevin Campbell is an American singer, songwriter and actor who began singing gospel in his church choir as a child. After a 1988 tryout for jazz artist Bobbi Humphrey, he signed with Warner Bros. Records and, in 1989, sang lead on Quincy Jones' "Tomorrow (A Better You, Better Me)" from Back on the Block. His debut album T.E.V.I.N. (1991) yielded "Tell Me What You Want Me to Do," his highest-charting single at number six on the Billboard Hot 100, along with "Alone with You" and "Goodbye." I'm Ready (1993) brought two Babyface-written hits, "Can We Talk," a number one R&B song, and the title track, each reaching number nine on the Hot 100. Back to the World followed in 1996 and Tevin Campbell in 1999. On screen he appeared in Prince's Graffiti Bridge, voiced pop star Powerline in A Goofy Movie singing "Stand Out" and "I2I," and played Seaweed in Hairspray on Broadway in 2005. He has earned five Grammy nominations.
