Book Aloe Blacc
Aloe Blacc is the singer, songwriter, rapper and producer whose voice carried Avicii's 2013 global smash "Wake Me Up," a number one in 22 countries, and who scored solo hits with "I Need a Dollar" and "The Man." Born Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III in California to Panamanian parents, he began in hip-hop: in 1995 he formed the duo Emanon with producer Exile. Emanon earned a loyal underground following with mixtapes, two EPs and the albums The Waiting Room (2005) and Dystopia (2016). As a solo artist he debuted with Shine Through (2006), then turned to classic soul on Good Things (2010) for Stones Throw Records, which featured "I Need a Dollar," the theme song of HBO's How to Make It in America. His major label album Lift Your Spirit (2013) included "The Man," and he followed with Christmas Funk (2018), All Love Everything (2020) and Stand Together (2025). He has earned a Grammy nomination. In 2023 he played a surprise set at a major automaker's private annual conference at Resorts World Las Vegas. Mixing soul, hip-hop and pop with a warm, gospel-tinged voice, Aloe Blacc delivers uplifting, horn-driven shows.
