Book Sea Wolf

Sea Wolf is the Los Angeles indie folk project led by songwriter Alex Brown Church, who took the name from Jack London's novel The Sea-Wolf. A former NYU film school student and a founding member of the band Irving, Church launched Sea Wolf as an outlet for his own songs, playing with an ever-changing group of musicians, and recorded early demos in Seattle with producer Phil Ek. Signed to Dangerbird Records in 2007, he released the EP Get To The River Before It Runs Too Low and the album Leaves in the River (2007), which reached No. 24 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. White Water, White Bloom (2009), produced by Mike Mogis in Omaha, followed, along with "The Violet Hour" for the Twilight saga film New Moon and "Song of the Magpie" for the audiobook of Augusten Burroughs' A Wolf at the Table. Later albums include Old World Romance (2012), the stripped-down Song Spells, No. 1: Cedarsmoke (2014) and Through a Dark Wood (2020). Sea Wolf brings lush, literate indie folk and a warm, intimate stage presence.
