Book Quiet Riot
Quiet Riot is the Los Angeles heavy metal band that started in 1973 with guitarist Randy Rhoads, bassist Kelly Garni and singer Kevin DuBrow. Its breakthrough came a decade later with the classic lineup of DuBrow, guitarist Carlos Cavazo, bassist Rudy Sarzo and drummer Frankie Banali, whose 1983 album Metal Health made history as the first heavy metal record to reach the top of the Billboard album chart. The band's charged cover of Slade's "Cum On Feel the Noize" and the title song "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)" both crossed onto the Billboard Hot 100 and became staples of 1980s rock radio and MTV. VH1 later placed the group at No. 100 on its list of the greatest hard rock artists. Through lineup changes and short splits the band kept going until DuBrow's death in 2007, and Banali revived it in 2010, releasing Quiet Riot 10 in 2014, Road Rage in 2017 and Hollywood Cowboys in 2019. After Banali's death in 2020, the remaining members carried on as he had wished, with longtime bassist Chuck Wright and guitarist Alex Grossi keeping the songs on the road.
