Book Peter Hook
Peter Hook, born Peter Woodhead in 1956, is a musician from England and the co-founder and former bassist of the post-punk band Joy Division and its successor, New Order. He formed the group with Bernard Sumner, and he became famous for treating the bass like a lead guitar, picking melodies high on the neck with a heavy chorus effect that became his trademark. That sound defined records such as Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures and many New Order hits. Since leaving New Order, Hook has toured with his band The Light, performing full albums by both groups, and he released Haçienda Classiçal in 2016, a studio project that reimagined dance classics from Manchester's famed club. He has one Grammy nomination. His concerts are loud, nostalgic, full-length celebrations of landmark post-punk and electronic dance music.
