Book Michael Connelly
Michael Connelly is an American crime novelist and the creator of LAPD detective Harry Bosch and defense attorney Mickey Haller, two of modern crime fiction's most enduring characters. He has written 42 novels and one nonfiction book, with his work translated into 40 languages. Before fiction he was a newspaper crime reporter in Florida, where a series on survivors of the 1985 Delta Flight 191 crash made him a Pulitzer Prize finalist and led to a job covering crime for the Los Angeles Times. His debut, The Black Echo (1992), won the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best First Novel, and the Bosch series grew through The Black Ice (1993), The Last Coyote (1995), Trunk Music (1997) and The Overlook (2007). Clint Eastwood directed and starred in the 2002 film of Blood Work, and Matthew McConaughey played Haller in the 2011 film of The Lincoln Lawyer, while Connelly helped bring Bosch to television. His honors include multiple Anthony and Barry awards, the Shamus Award, the Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction (2012) and the Cartier Diamond Dagger (2018). From 2003 to 2004 he was president of the Mystery Writers of America.
