Book Michael Che
Michael Che is a stand-up comic, writer and actor from the United States whose sharp, deadpan delivery has made him a fixture of late-night comedy. Since 2014 he has sat at the Weekend Update desk on NBC's Saturday Night Live, trading jokes with Colin Jost every week, and from 2017 to 2022 the two shared duties as co-head writers of the show. Che began doing stand-up in 2009, often working several club sets in a single night, and he landed a spot on the Late Show with David Letterman in 2012. A year later Variety tagged him among its comics to watch and Rolling Stone counted him among the funniest people working. He joined the SNL writing staff in 2013, then spent a short, well-reviewed stretch as a correspondent on The Daily Show in 2014 before returning to anchor Update. In 2018 he and Jost co-hosted the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards. On stage, Che brings tight, topical stand-up shaped by a decade-plus of writing for live national television, plus a quick, conversational wit that works well in a room.
