Men at Work came together in 1979 in Melbourne, Australia, around singer and guitarist Colin Hay, who began with Ron Strykert as an acoustic duo before the full group took shape. After signing to CBS Records in 1981, the band released Business as Usual, an album fueled by the radio singles "Who Can It Be Now?" and "Down Under," both of which became worldwide hits and reached number one in the United States. Cargo followed in 1983 with "Overkill" and "It's a Mistake," and Two Hearts arrived in 1985. Men at Work won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1983 and are in the ARIA Hall of Fame. With a quirky, reggae-tinged new wave sound and Hay's distinctive voice, their songs remain staples of classic hits radio and festival singalongs.
